【コンサートパフォーマンスシリーズ「七つの大罪」– 憤怒 –】デンマーク編

ピアニスト牧村英里子演出の七つの大罪を原案としたコンサートパフォーマンス「VREDE (憤怒)」が、来たる2018年11月15日~17日、コペンハーゲンのKoncertKirken にて3夜連続で上演さ れます。一昨年の「FRÅDSERI (飽食)」、昨年の「MISUNDELSE (嫉妬)」に引き続き、七つの大 罪シリーズ第三弾となります。

各国のアートプロジェクトのプロデューサー、ダイレクターでもある牧村英里子は、芸術シーンを牽 引するアーティストとしてスカンジナビア諸国をはじめ、ドイツ、ギリシャ、日本等、世界各地で精力的に活動しています。京都市立芸術大学並びに同大学院、ベルリン芸術大学、ハノーファー音楽大学に学び、日本・ヨーロッパにおいて数々のコンクールでの優勝歴のある牧村英里子は、2010年 より独自の新しいアートフォーム「コンサートパフォーマンス」「CHAMBER CABARET」を確立、 高い評価を受けています。

VREDEとは、日本語では「憤怒」と訳され、主にカトリック教会で言及される、人間を罪に導く可能 性があるとされる「七つの大罪」~7つの欲望や感情~ のうちのひとつです。「七つの大罪」はしばしば芸術のモチーフとして取り上げられ、ヨーロッパでは古くから多くの芸術家によって様々な解釈・表現がなされてきました。

私たちの社会に巣食う不均衡、不安定、いらだち、やりきれない不満、しかし怒りの形は千差万別です。内相的な憤怒の形もあれば、爆発的に燃え広がる憤怒もあります。

映像と音楽によって織りなすコンサートパフォーマンス「VREDE(憤怒)」では、Other Story制作の映画「Phyllis フィリス」(監督:Madeleine Kate McGowan)を上演いたします。デンマーク初公開となります。監督のMadeleine Kate McGowan氏はヨーロッパを代表する気鋭のアーティストで、映画制作のみならずさまざまなプラットフォームで環境や社会における自身の意見を映像やパフォーマンスを通して発信しています。

コンサートでは、観覧の皆さまの「憤怒」をご提供いただき、ひとりひとりの感情がピアノ演奏に反映されます。プログラムは、A.ゴスフィールドの「ブルックリン1941年10月5日」、牧村作曲「怒りの日の主題による変奏曲」など。

【映画「Phyllis フィリス」について】

短編映画「Phyllis フィリス」は、Other Story制作のドキュメンタリーシリーズ「Tribe of all colours」の2作目です。世の中の不条理に立ち向かうアメリカ先住民ラコタ族の女性、フィリス・ヤングに迫ります。

・

「Tribe of all colours」がフォーカスするのは、ミズーリ川の水を石油パイプラインから守るために戦ってきた人々です。

・
撮影はミズーリ川のとある支流で行われ、フィリス・ヤングは自身の部族や、石油パイプラインの会社ダコタ・アクセス・パイプライン社への抗議行動について語り、次世代へメッセージを贈ります。

・

フィリスという名前は、ラコタ族の名前で「ミズーリの水を守る女性」という意味です。

November is a sinful month. This year “VREDE (Wrath)” will be presented explosively with music and film at KoncertKirken.

We are extremely honored to screen Other Story’s film “Phyllis” (The description about the film is found below).

“Variations on the theme of Dies Irae (the day of Wrath)” composed by Eriko Makimura will be premiered. She will collect the audience’s “wrath” and insert the explosive emotions into the piano.

Some authorities say that wrath is social criticism. However, do we really need to define intellectually what wrath means? We will keep tranquility about it until we explode on the stage.

【Phyllis】

This Other Story short-film, with Phyllis Young of the Lakota tribe from Standing Rock, is a part of the second series of Other Story films, Tribe of all Colors – intimate film-portraits of people who are investing themselves in the fight for this planet.
In these short documentaries, we get close to people who fight to protect the water flowing in the Missouri River, from oil-leaks in the Dakota Access Pipeline construction.

 

Other Story met Phyllis Young by a side-stream to the Missouri River, and sat down with her by the water, to talk about ancestors, her experience of the uprising against the Dakota Access Pipeline, and about her message to the young people of today going into the future. Phyllis’ Lakota name is ‘Woman who Stands by the Water’.
